Since the military coup in Myanmar in February 2021, the country has plunged into a devastating civil and humanitarian crisis. The military junta has waged a campaign of widespread violence and repression against civilians, marked by mass arrests, torture, executions, village burnings, and increasingly frequent airstrikes on civilian areas.

Below, please find information about three upcoming events as well as links to useful resources to learn more about the situation in Myanmar and how to take action. These events aim to raise awareness of the ongoing human rights violations as well as offering a space to gather in solidarity.

Testimonies from Beyond Art Exhibition

1st May - 6th May 2025

Location: Koppel Collective, 157 Regent's Park Rd, Chalk Farm, NW1 8BB, London.

This exhibition aims to expose the atrocities committed by the Burmese military by showcasing items recovered from the victims of airstrikes.

The exhibition focuses on military attacks on civilians: airstrikes on monasteries and homes, sexual violence against women, and the abduction and murder of villagers.

The exhibition features the last belongings that the victims had on them before they were killed. A nine-year old’s backpack, schoolbook, and lunch money, just one of a number of children killed in an airstrike on a monastery. A prayer book and rosary beads of a married couple in their 70’s, killed in their home with their son when a shell exploded.

"Testimonies from Beyond" is more than an exhibition; it is an act of remembrance, resistance, and accountability.

This Exhibition was curated by Myanmar Peace Museum and Sacca Photo and brought to you by Burma VJ Media and Stars of Myanmar Friendship Club in collaboration with Burma Campaign UK.
